Keeping Alive Artist Spirit and Culture

Editor,

Being a family man, a resident and a music-film publisher and producer/consultant for over 40 years, it is so hard to understand why there is not a spirited drive to support and keep the arts of all types active in this great city.

Yes, I know it is expensive to live here. All the more reason to be proud of the history of arts and artists that have built this city. If it only comes down to real estate and money, then this town has lost the magic of its soul. The closed South Coast Theater film location would be a boon the this city’s future and culture if it were to transition to a showcase for upcoming songwriters, performers, musicians etc. I know of many, many legendary music-film-entertainment people that would love to be part of this project in a heartbeat. I’m sure Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. would more than love the idea.

This is a once in a lifetime chance to make this theater an “international” landmark that lives. It would add a re-birth to the fact that Laguna Beach has some of the most wonderful homes and people in the world and they respect and value the future of the arts!
