I was so pleased to see the article about the CLC program (“Potential Nourished With Kindness,” Letters, Jan. 31).
My son Jackson was in the program a few years ago and now my son James is part of the community. It is just that, more then a classroom – a community.
The students come out of the program with a greater sense of themselves and the world. The parent volunteers and the teachers invloved in CLC become teachers, mentors, friends and supporters. In turn, the 40 students teach and inspire us adults daily. The atmosphere of encouragement and mutual respect for each student towards the others allows the student to achieve his or her personal best.
CLC is a gem in the school district that I am very happy to see get support.
