Michael Lewis, 21, of Laguna Beach, finished second racing in the Formula 3 Euro Series this past weekend in Spielberg, Austria.
Lewis started the race in third. While he challenged for the lead at times, he also had to fend off a battle for second position during the 20-minute sprint race.
The weekend featured three races, with Lewis qualifying 13th for the first and third races, which were Rounds 7 and 9. He powered his way through the field from 13th and earned sixth-place finishes in both 40-minute races, earning points in the series.
As a result, Lewis now stands in seventh place in the series. His next F3 Euro race will be in Germany on June 29.
