At this point it’s apparent that many Lagunans are opposed to and or have serious reservations regarding our City Council’s village entrance plan. Their concerns relate not only to money (shouldn’t $65 million buy more than 200 parking places and a small park? Will the project solve our downtown parking problem?) but also to public safety and the negative effects of several years of construction.
The Council needs to listen to their constituents. There is still time for them to allow residents a yes-or-no vote on the plan or to rescind their own “yes” vote and abort the project.
Either course of action would serve democracy and allow for a better solution for Laguna’s parking problem. We all need to work together for the good of Laguna.
