Congratulations are in order for Margaret Mack, a resident of Laguna Beach since 1972. On her 100th birthday she welcomed friends and family at her home to celebrate the occasion on April 14, according to her daughter, Kathy Short.
Mack is the longest standing member of the Patience Wright Chapter of the Laguna Beach Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mack is also a talented artist who specialized in landscapes of the Mohave Desert. Her paintings are treasured by those fortunate enough to obtain one. She still paints watercolors at the Susi Q Senior Center in Laguna Beach.
Margaret and her husband Duane were known for their daily walks from Heisler Park to The Surf and Sand Hotel.
Mrs. Mack currently walks only in her neighborhood and in Heisler Park.
Mack has four children, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
