Last month’s pet parade and chili contest raised $11,645, divvied up recently between the city’s animal shelter, the Bluebell Cat Foundation and Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Gary Boisin, president of the board’s charitable foundation, delivered a check recently to representatives from each group.

The Laguna Board of Realtors and Affiliates Charitable Assistance Fund will accept written grant applications for donations from its 2012 Laguna Beach fundraising events through Nov. 15.

Proceeds are donated to local nonprofits and the Realtors’ general fund. Priority is given to groups generally smaller in size that serve local needs and do not have other consistent funding sources. Scholarships are also awarded to qualifying Laguna Beach High School students. Prior recipients may reapply.

The group sponsors “A taste for Charity” in May and the “Pet Parade/Chili Cook- off” in September.

Groups are invited to apply at the board office:  939 Glenneyre St., Laguna Beach, (949) 497-2474, [email protected]. Applicants will be notified of the selection committee’s decision in January 2012.
