The resort Montage Laguna Beach is featured as the sole domestic location in Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue, which went on sale last week and is expected to reach 70 million U.S. adults, the resort said in a statement.
In addition, the public beach coves below the 30-acre resort were also the exclusive photo setting for the magazine’s search for next year’s models, which are featured in the current print edition as well as in images and video online at si.com.
Photographer Walter Iooss Jr., responsible for 11 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue covers, spent 10 days on location in January shooting still images and video of eight models. For the first time, Sports Illustrated will ask readers to vote on their favorite rookie model to appear in the magazine in 2012.
“We are honored that the editors of Sports Illustrated chose Montage Laguna Beach as one of the coveted locations for this year’s SI Swimsuit Issue,” said Montage Laguna Beach General Manager Todd Orlich. The shoot was coordinated by the resort and Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau.Firebrand Media LLC wants comments that advance the discussion, and we need your help to accomplish this mission.
