The Rotary Club of Laguna Beach honored Lila Vera as Student of the Month for October during the club’s regular luncheon meeting at Hotel Laguna last Friday.
Lila was accompanied by her math department instructor Gary Shapiro, who described her accomplishments in advanced mathematics and athletics.
Lila is an Orange Coast League Scholar-Athlete for swimming. After high school, she will major in applied mathematics with a biology concentration that focuses on human interactions and populations.
Lila was honored with a certificate of recognition at the meeting and will receive a scholarship at the Honors Convocation at the end of the school year.
