Troop 35’s members were recognized for merit badge and rank accomplishments at the fall court of honor on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Scouts Sam Eidt, Jared Moy, Will Thomas, Logan Leeds, Bobby Briggs, Andrew Ranabarger, Sean Cavanaugh, Michael Davidson, Jared Hammett, Joseph Hovanesian, Marin Huot-Marchand, Joseph Kerfoot, Jake Mangus, Grant Miller, Jonathan Ranabarger, Jack Reed, David Spitz and Alden Stoneman are all working toward becoming Eagle Scouts.
In August, the troop spent a week at Catalina Island’s Emerald Bay Scout Camp snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, building log signal towers, and shooting rifles and shotguns under supervision.
“I’ve really enjoyed being part of the troop for so long. It has given me the unique opportunity to see the drastic effect that it can have on the kids,” said senior patrol leader Grant Miller, a LBHS senior.
Miller and fellow scout Nils Wilson was awarded a commendation from the troop for exhibiting exemplary “Scout Spirit” during camp. Dads who came along included Michael Lindsey, Aaron Spitz and Marlowe Moy.
