Firefighters Ignite a Toy Drive

Local firefighters are taking part in the annual Spark of Love toy drive and invite the public to participate as well.

Firefighters in five counties collect 300,000 toys annually to distribute to disadvantaged children, who would otherwise not be receiving gifts, says a department statement.

Four Laguna fire stations serve as drop-off points for new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment. Toy requests or family referrals are also available at all Orange County fire stations and Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 730 N. Garfield Ave., Santa Ana.
