Found property. 10:21 a.m. 600 block of Coast Hwy. A backpack with an ample amount of marijuana was found in a hotel lobby. The reporting party believes it’s the property of a guest.
DUI. 30800 block Coast Hwy. As a result of a call from a person who observed a vehicle leaving a parking lot, Brooke Monacell, 43, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving and held for $10,000 bail due to a previous arrest.
Tuesday, Dec. 18
Traffic stop. Diamond St. A 21-year-old Laguna Niguel woman was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Traffic stop. 1:48 a.m. Broadway Place. Travis Leland Schott, 40, of Laguna Niguel, was cited for DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.
Petty theft. 12:13 p.m. 700 block Cliff Dr. A laptop valued at $600 was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
Suspicious persons. 2:20 p.m. Glenneyre St. A caller reported seeing someone who they believe to be casing abandoned houses.
DUI. 12-04750. Forest Ave. Olando Edie, 29, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $15,000, his third drunk-driving arrest in two months.
Wednesday, Dec. 19
Soliciting. 2:35 p.m. 400 block El Camino del Mar. Kristina Aragon, 23, of New Mexico, who was selling subscriptions door-to-door, was held without bail after her arrest for outstanding drug possession and paraphernalia charges.
Welfare check. 10:22 p.m. 300 block of Cliff Dr. A 56-year-old Irvine man was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Thursday, Dec. 20
Traffic stop. 12:37 a.m. Canyon Acres. A 46-year-old Rancho Santa margarita man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Coyote in back yard. 1 p.m. 3200 block of Tyrol Dr.
Traffic stop. 12:03 a.m. A 29-year-old Irvine man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Friday, Dec. 21
Grand theft. 32100 Virginia Way. 7:15 p.m. Household help in suspected in the loss of property and jewelry valued at $12,000.
Saturday, Dec. 22
Traffic collision. 2:15 a.m. 700 block Cress St. A 35-year-old Laguna Beach man was arrested for DUI after his vehicle hit a tree and telephone poll.
Suspicious vehicle. 3200 Laguna Canyon Rd. 4 a.m. Two people suspected in the burglary of a Huntington Beach optometry store fled into the wilderness park after an officer began tailing their vehicle. Inside the abandoned vehicle police found heroin, needles, a meth pipe and several pairs of sunglasses. The car’s license was linked to a burglary earlier that night.
Vandalism. 7:09 a.m. 600 block of Hillcrest Dr. About $500 in damage was done to the women’s restroom at Riddle Field, including pushing the toilet from its base.
Burglary. 1700 block of S. Coast Hwy. 8:41 a.m. Someone damaged the deadbolt at a store, but failed to gain entry.
Suspicious person. 10:55 p.m. 2800 block of Zell Dr. A 16-year-old Laguna Beach boy was detained by a resident after he was observed trying doors of vehicles. He was detained for vehicle tampering and released to his parents.

Traffic stop. 1:13 a.m. Coast Hwy. Michael Glenn Peterson, 44, of San Juan Capistrano, was cited for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.
Traffic stop. 800 block of Wilson St. A 29-year-old Laguna Beach woman was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Medical response. 10:47 a.m. 20300 Laguna Canyon Rd. A 22-year-old San Diego man was cited for DUI and held for $2,500 bail after a caller told police someone in an idling vehicle at the side of the road needed medical attention.
Property. 12:42 p.m. Monterey Dr. A ruby diamond gold bracelet of undetermined valued was turned in by a citizen who found the jewelry while walking near the public swimming pool.
Defrauding innkeeper. 30800 block of Coast Hwy. 6:54 p.m. Two hotel guests ran out on a $2,133, two-night room tab when their credit card was declined after asking for a room upgrade. The man had booked a reservation online and arrived two days after his female companion.
