A free, open reading of short stories, poetry and essays by local writers entitled Here Comes the Sun takes place Wednesday, June 1, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Susi Q Community Center, 380 Third St.

Author Recounts Survival in Nazi-Occupied France
Author and holocaust survivor Dr. Claude Abraham recounts his family’s tale in “Never Again,” Thursday, June 2, at the Chabad Center, 2240 University Dr., Newport Beach.
His entire family was arrested in France and turned over to the Nazis. Abraham escaped from a convoy and managed to hide and survive the war, coming to the United States in 1946. He is the author of 13 books.
