Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts is hosting keynote speaker Rita Rudner and the nominees for the seventh annual Art Star Awards on Sunday, April 7 at 6 p.m., hosted by Seven Degrees.
The Art Star Awards will be presented to organizations, businesses and individuals who have contributed and shaped the arts and culture in Laguna Beach this last year.
Longtime resident and well-known artist Jacquie Moffett will be honored with a special lifetime achievement award.
Among the nominees for artist of the year are Nelson Coates, Larry Gill Scott and Naomi Schoenherr; Laguna Beach Botanicals, On the Green and Shakespeare’s Fool for best new arts program; Yvonne Boseker, Terry Smith as well as Arn and Nancy Youngman for individual arts patron of the year; Jonathan Burke, Mary Ferguson and Pat Sparkuhl in arts leadership; Marconi Foundation for Kids, The PIMCO Foundation and Wells Fargo Bank as corporate arts patron of the year; and the Mentor Program (First Thursdays Art Walk and Laguna College of Art & Design) Music at an Exhibition (Laguna Concert Band and Laguna College of Art & Design) Orange County: Destination Art & Culture (Laguna Beach Visitors Bureau and Orange County Airport), for outstanding arts collaboration.
