Students, faculty and staff at Laguna College of Art & Design have joined forces to produce artwork for a benefit sale to aid the victims of the cataclysmic events in Japan, to be held on Sunday, April 3, at the main campus, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road.

LCAD artists of all levels and all majors have used their creative energies to produce an eclectic assemblage of 200 small canvases, including paintings, prints and works on paper that are approximately eight by 10 inches and range in price from $30 to $70.

The artwork will be on display and available for purchase on April 3, during the “Best of the Best” student juried exhibition and awards reception. The reception and sales preview begins at 5 p.m., with sales immediately following the awards presentation at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross’ Japanese Disaster Relief Fund. “The creative contributions of the LCAD community and the generous participation of the local community in purchasing the art will enable us to show support and solidarity with the people of Japan in this time of distress,” said Hélène Garrison, vice president of academic affairs.
