Chef of Edible Art Cooks Amid the Easels

Executive chef-owner Marc Cohen from 230 Forest Avenue and Watermarc, will be the featured chef at the Festival of Arts’ cooking series Sunday, July 15 at 1 p.m.

Festival visitors become culinary students for an hour as chefs share their tips, tricks and tools. The series features noteworthy local chefs and is free with Festival of Arts admission of $10.

Cohen, whose culinary presentations were lauded as edible works of art, makes sure every entrée from his kitchens is as pleasing to look at as it is to eat. Originally from Baltimore, Cohen’s native allegiance shows in his menus, filled with fresh fish and seafood. In 1994, his partners lured him west to open Laguna Beach’s 230 Forest Avenue. He has since opened Opah Restaurant & Bar in Aliso Viejo and Irvine and Laguna’s Watermarc.
