Healthy Lifestyles Start at the Club

The Boys & Girls Club has combined education on healthy lifestyles and fitness into their daily programs.

This summer over 200 young people regularly participated in the Club’s Healthy Habits program and learned about nutrition, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Club leaders also stepped up efforts to get families involved as well. A healthy twist added to the club’s annual talent show, where parents joined in a nutrition trivia competition. Families participated for a chance to enter the Boys & Girls Club of America’s Family Fit Challenge.

New programs also focus on fitness and health such as gardening, martial arts, healthy cooking, and hiking. The club snack bar is becoming a “health food bar.”
