Four Laguna Beach High School seniors, Cara Borkovec, Preston GrandPre, Anya Miller and Jack Wyett, received scholarships to continue their athletic pursuits in college, the school district announced Wednesday.
“These student athletes represent the best of the best at Laguna Beach High School,” said Athletic Director Mike Churchill. “They have excelled on the field of competition and in the classroom. We are very proud of them and wish them all the best of luck in college.”
“They are not only successful athletes, but student scholars and focused young adults,” Principal Joanne Culverhouse said.
Cara will get wet playing water polo for USC. Jack also joins the Trojan family, playing volleyball.
In Northern California, Preston will play baseball for UC Berkeley and Anya will row for Stanford University.
About 60 percent of the high school’s students participate on one or more sports teams.
