Adults, families, and beginners are invited to Art and Sea Lions workshops beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, organized by LOCA Arts Education at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, 20612 Laguna Canyon Road, in Laguna Beach.

Participants will enjoy a docent-led viewing of live sea lions, a presentation on the rescue and rehabilitation work of the center, and an easy step-by-step art class taught by a different local artist each month. Jan Sattler leads the first workshop, Mike Tauber the Nov. 12 and others through May 13.

Cost is $20 for adults, and $15 for those age 6 and up. Advance registration is required

New Show at JoAnne Artman Gallery     

“Pared Down Synchronicity,” a new exhibit at the JoAnne Artman Gallery, features art by Jane Maxwell and Matt Devine.

The work will be shown until Oct. 31 at 326 N. Coast Highway.

Maxwell is a mixed media artist from Boston and Devine is a self-taught sculptor working with steel, aluminum and bronze.
