Maro Grabs Most Delicious Dessert Award
Maro Wood Grill’s banana bread pudding received the Golden Foodie Award for most delicious dessert and is the only restaurant in Laguna Beach that took home an award this year.
The Golden Foodie Awards honors the best chefs, restaurants, food and drinks in the county and the winners are chosen by the public based on popular vote.
Sapphire Laguna Welcomes a Guest Chef
Sapphire Laguna’s guest chef, Fabrizio Schenardi, will create a five-course, family-style Italian Harvest Dinner, on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The special dinner is available at $75 per guest. Children and young adults can enjoy smaller portions of the five-course menu for $35 and the a la carte dinner menu will be offered for the youngest.

New Menu Debuts at Ocean Brew Pub
Ocean Avenue Brewery began serving from a newly transformed menu last week, which features small plates priced from $8 to $18 with innovative touches such as duck and lamb tacos.
Even the sandwiches layer on the flavors, adding brie and arugula to chicken, roasted shallot mayo and pecan-smoked bacon to turkey. Fish and beef entrees, salads, flatbreads and pasta fill out the menu
Known for craft beers, the pub at 237 Ocean Ave. also serves up live entertainment on most week nights.

The Newport Beach Public Library’s What’s Cooking at the Library will feature Geeta Bansal, chef and owner of Irvine’s Clay Oven, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Central Library Friends Room, 1000 Avocado Ave.
