Continuing a nine-year tradition, the Andersen family opened up their restaurant, Claes Ovation, to 200 SchoolPower supporters for a dinner last month that raised $18,000 for the organization.
SchoolPower president, Marcus Skenderian was effusive in his gratitude for the tradition and legacy left by Claes Andersen and the continuing support of Georgia Andersen.
The Claes Dinner, as this event is known, marks the beginning of SchoolPower’s Community Campaign, where parent volunteers call each family in the district for donations. Last year, SchoolPower was able to donate almost $697,000 to Laguna schools and the SchoolPower Endowment as a result.
