Breakers (2-3) hobbled through the Godinez tournament Dec. 4-6 after losing key player Isaac Wulf to a finger injury. Laguna was served notice by Godinez that a ninth straight league title will be real challenge as the Grizzlies went 4-1 in the event. The two squads will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Dugger Gym.

In the Grizzly Invitational, Laguna completed their tournament schedule losing to Cypress on Dec. 4, 71-58, defeating Fullerton 48-40 on Dec. 5, and dropping a 46-32 contest to Capo Valley on Dec. 6. Breakers returned to the court on Dec. 10 when they hosted Dana Hills.

This Friday, Dec. 12, Laguna will host Irvine at Dugger Gym, with a 7 p.m. tip off. Next week the squad will be in the Oxford Academy tournament with play beginning on Monday. Freshman sensation Blake Burzell continues to sear the nets with 101 points so far in five games. He is well on his way to break the freshman scoring record on varsity set by Cheyne Martin in 2004. Martin scored 398 points in 24 games that season.
