There will be a skateboard demonstration at the Boys and Girls Club’s Main Branch in Laguna Beach, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14. The demo is designed to entertain and inform kids in the community about a new skate camp that will be running from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays to Thursdays throughout the summer.

The skate camp is designed to help kids build friendships, improve skills and stay active, and all instructors have been skating for over 10 years and many are excellent technical/street skaters.  Many of the instructors are also CPR certified and have been teaching skateboarding for numerous years.

Those attending the demo can expect to see an exciting display of technical/advanced skateboarding combined with informative instruction following the demonstration.

Students attending the summer skate camp can expect to learn how to push/fall properly using pads, how to drop in on a ramp and how to do a kick-turn. Other skills including transitioning and grinding will be taught to those intermediate/advanced skaters.
