Laguna breezed through two league matches last week defeating Godinez 17-1 on Tuesday, April 17, and Saddleback by the identical score on Thursday, April 19. On Friday, April 20 at the Dana Hills Tennis Center, Laguna dropped a narrow 10-8 non-league match to Division 4, top-ranked San Juan Hills. Breakers appear to be peaking and could make a fourth straight run to the D4 finals to be held on Friday, May 18, at the Claremont Club.
This past week Laguna concluded their regular season at Estancia (5-5, 4-1). Current league match win streak is 39 straight still well short of the school record 70 set in the 1980’s.
The league individual finals are set for May 3 at Saddleback High School. Southern Section team playoffs begin the week of May 7 with the pairing posting after 11 a.m. Monday at www.CIFSS.org.
