Laguna went 3-2 at the 32-team South Coast Tournament, finishing 13th. Breakers opened play on Thursday, Sept. 21 with a 14-7 victory over Beckman in a match played at Foothill High School. Peter Weiland was the top scorer with four goals. That evening Laguna dropped a tough round of 16 match with host Foothill, 9-8.
Riley Bumgardner and Colton Gregory were the Breakers top scorers with two scores each.
On Friday, Sept. 22, at Corona del Mar, Breakers were edged 10-9 in overtime to top-ranked Division 3 Riverside Poly. In Saturday’s contests, Breakers defeated Dana Hills 10-9 and Northwood 12-6. Against the Timberwolves, Larson McCarroll scored six of Laguna’s 12 goals.
