Welcome Mat Rolls Out for New Families
Families that are new to the Laguna Beach Unified School District are invited to attend the PTA Coffee Talk at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Madison Square Garden and Café, 320 N. Coast Highway.
This is a chance for new parents to meet other families and learn about the schools.
Longtime residents are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Free to PTA members.
Youngster Mastering Chinese
Jimmy Dunne, 11, of Laguna Beach, has won a math excellence award for achieving advance honor status
equivalent to 10th grade skills, said his tutor, Eileen Yap of the Kumon school in Laguna Niguel, in a statement.
Jimmy has just entered sixth grade at Tarbut V’Torah Community School in Irvine where he is in the advanced eight-grade algebra class.
Last June he was also awarded first place in sixth grade Chinese language at Irvine Chinese School.
TOW Hosts Birthday Bonanza
Top of the World Elementary School will celebrate its 50th birthday from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6.
All former teacher and students are cordially invited to attend.
