Locals Impress with Sailing Skills
James Lawson, a local single-handed sailor, placed fourth out of 25 in the Finn Pacific Coast Championships in San Diego, Sept. 16-17.
Another Laguna local, Viggo Torbensen, placed sixth out of 39 in last month’s Long Beach race of the one-man heavyweight dinghys.
Sign-ups for Basketball Run Out
Kindergarten through ninth grade boys can learn basketball skills as part of a league at the Boys & Girls Club. The cost for club members to $100 per player and includes pre-season camp and uniforms; non-club members pay $150 for club membership.
Player evaluations will be held Oct. 2-6; camp starts Oct. 9. Practice begins Nov. 6 and games start in December.
