Helping Parents Identify Depression, Anxiety and Eating Disorders

 

An upcoming parent education workshop at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, focuses on identifying symptoms of adolescent depression, anxiety and eating disorders.

Two mental health professionals will lead the event and the Laguna Beach High School Library and also provide resources and recommendation.

CLC Hosts Seaside Fundraiser

 

The Community Learning Center (CLC), a school within Top of the World Elementary,  will hold its 28th annual fundraising dinner Saturday, March 31, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Pacific Edge Hotel’s Surf Cabanas.

 

Alumni, potential CLC families and interested members of the community are welcome to join us. Those interested in attending or supporting the cause with a donation may contact Sabrina Yeh at 949-294-5309. Tickets are $55 per person.

 

Pacific Edge will also sponsor a raffle for a private Surf Cabana and a dinner for two at the Deck Restaurant.

 

Irvine Invites Families to Resource Fair

 

About 40 exhibits, with an emphasis on special needs services, will be available to parents at a 6 to 8 p.m. resource fair, Wednesday, March 21, at Irvine High’s gym, 4321 Walnut

Seminar topics include living with autism; organizing your child for academic success; special needs trusts, wills and guardianship; and promoting self-sufficient youth.

Fundraising for the Swimming Laguna Teams

 

The Yogaworks corporation has given the Laguna Beach boys water polo team and the swim team a fundraising opportunity.

 

The teams are selling an offer for 25 days of unlimited classes for $25 where all benefits go to the teams.

 

The classes are good in five locations around the county including Laguna Beach. You must activate your certificates at the Laguna Beach studio, 30818 S. Coast Highway by April 30.

 

This offer is good for new or lapsed yoga students. The certificates will be sold to the end of March.

Honors for Local Student

 

Cameron Bates of Laguna Beach was named to the University of Great Falls’  honor roll and dean’s list for fall semester.
