Parents to Meet New Principal

The Top of the World Elementary community is invited to meet the school’s new principal, Michael Conlon, at 6 p.m. Monday, June 2.

Conlon, a local resident, was appointed last month. He starts on the job in August.

Classes Introduce Art to Children

Imagine Wisdom Education offers a free art class from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 at the Laguna Beach Montessori School, 340 St. Ann’s Dr. Kids will enjoy games, art and magic.

During summer, the I-WE Summer Art Camp offers week-long 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. classes for preschoolers and 1-4 p.m. classes for 6 to 9-year-olds. The five weekly sessions, Monday through Friday, run from July 7 to Aug. 8.

Tests Detect Heart Problems in Athletes

Screening Project Protects Athletes Heartfelt Cardiac Projects and the high school Athletic Boosters will conduct heart screenings on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3 and 4, from 3- 6 p.m.

An $85 donation is suggested for the screening, taking place at the Laguna Beach High School North Gym, 625 Park Ave.

Aleph Cervo, of Laguna Beach, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2014 graduated with a major in music and a minor in asian studies.
