Church Hosts Alternative Holiday Market

Neighborhood Congregational Church invites the public to share the holiday spirit by shopping to make a difference at its Seventh Annual Alternative Christmas Market on two consecutive Sundays, Dec. 4 and 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The market, 340 St. Ann’s Dr., is an opportunity for children to purchase gifts for teachers and family at affordable prices and also learn about the needs around the world.
Gifs offered provide support and sustenance for people in need:  animals for developing country farmers, weekly one-on-one reading sessions for at-risk children, immunizations to protect children, bednets to prevent malaria, soccer balls, school supplies and uniforms for African girls, and donations for youth in developing countries, bead jewelry from Uganda, olive oil from the Holy Land, fair trade coffees, teas and chocolates, cookbooks, reusable shopping bags, hand-crocheted jingle bell hats and Dee Dee’s bags.
Habitat for Humanity will sell pins and cards to support their building projects in Orange County. Homemade treats will be served.
Shoppers can also turn gold into cash with Alternative Market’s gold buyer.
