Experience Fall in Guided Park Hikes

Friday, Nov. 7, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., ages 8 and up can meet at the Nix Nature Center for a two mile walk to Orange County’s only natural lake while learning about native plants with a volunteer naturalist.

Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. until noon ages 12 and up can take a fast-paced, steep and rocky, 4.8-mile hike, with a 700-ft. elevation gain to identify native plants with a volunteer naturalist. Meets at Nix Center.

Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1-3:30 p.m. enjoy a 3.5-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain while learning about the geology of the willows. Meets at Willow Canyon Staging Area, 20101 Laguna Canyon Rd.

Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 9-11 a.m. Ages 12 and up can get close to nature on a leisurely two-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain spotting plants and maybe animals on the Dilley loop nature hike. Meets at James Dilley Preserve.

Thursday, Nov. 13, from 8:30-10:30 a.m., ages 15 and up can raise their heart rates and spirits on this difficult, strenuous and fast-paced, 4.8 mile over very steep, uneven terrain. Hiking poles suggested. Meets at Nix Nature Center.
