Girls Volleyball (17-12, 10-0)

For the second year in a row and the fourth time in 41 playoff appearances, Laguna Beach took an early exit losing to unranked Esperanza in five sets, 26-28, 24-26, 25-12, 25-16, 13-15 at the Aztec Gym Thursday, Nov. 13. After clear success in the third and fourth sets, the Breakers s altered their rotation for the final set and never found consistency. The team led at one time 15-13, 15-13, 15-7, and 15-12 in each of the first four sets and were tied 13-13 in the fifth, but could not close out as an attempted block missed and the rebounding ball fell on the line.

Jamie Robbins led all players in kill totals with 18 kills on a whopping 61 swings while Sabrina Stillwell, committed to Brown next year, closed out her brilliant Laguna career with 17 kills, three aces and 24 digs with a hit percentage nearly at .400. Frosh player Lexi McKeown hit .500 with seven kills and 10 digs, Sage Patchell (So) also hit well with 14 kills on 30 attempts while Aspen Rocha (Jr) added nine kills, 20 digs and 24 assists. Francie Holte, also a Brown commitment was at the top of her game passing 29 serve receives and collecting 21 digs and seven assists as the Libero.
