Hotel Receives Plus Rating

The former Best Western Laguna Brisas Spa Hotel has earned the addition of “Plus” to their moniker.

Affiliate hotels can earn the plus or premier designation depending on design and amenities. The “Plus” added to a hotel’s name now indicates an upper mid-scale hotel with well-appointed rooms, modern amenities and an enhanced level of comfort.

“Hotels that earn the ‘Plus’ descriptor typically have a 3-Diamond rating from AAA, and offer a little something extra to make a guest’s stay even more comfortable,” said David Kong, Best Western’s chief executive officer.

“We are proud to put the ‘Best Western Plus’ sign on our door,” said Scott Gaw, marketing director of the 66-room local hotel at 1600 S. Coast Highway, which offers guests whirlpool spas and free Internet access.
