Impact Giving, the Orange County based women’s collective giving organization now in its second year, will award more than $125,000 to other local and global nonprofits on Thursday, April 28, at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. The event is open to the public and tickets are $65.

Launched last year, Impact Giving’s goal is to encourage1,000 women to each donate $1,000 a year, enabling the organization to give away at total of $1 million annually. In its inaugural year, Impact Giving, awarded $90,000 to seven local and global organizations, changing the lives of literally thousands of individuals.

“Our Partners get to see exactly how their money is making significant impact in a variety of lives,” said board chair Karen Wilson, of Laguna Beach. As an example, in their first year, Impact Giving funded treatment for a young Ethiopian girl with severe scoliosis and helped an organization that supplied a free wheelchair to give mobility to an African boy with multiple sclerosis. “These are just two examples of the thousands of lives we, as a collective giving organization, get to help change for the better,” said Wilson.

This year 47 organizations sought its grants.
