Incoming second grader Mara Williams of Top of the World Elementary represented Laguna Beach and Orange County at the California State Track and Field finals July 21-22 in the 200-yard dash, finishing 13th in the state.
One of 27 junior athletes competing for fastest in the state, the 7-year-old successfully qualified at both the Orange County Championships and the Southern California Championships to become a finalist.
