LBHS Surf Wins Against St. Margaret

Laguna Beach High School students Jake Levine and Claire Kelly surfed their way into individual championships at the Scholastic Surf Series at T Street Beach in San Clemente on Sunday, Dec. 11

LBHS competed against St Margaret and took the overall win by 69-38.

LBHS students competed in each of the division finals, with the entire boys six-person shortboard team in the final.

Levine made it two in a row with the win followed closely by Travis Booth in second, Kiko Nelsen in third, Liam McCue in fourth, Holden Geary in fifth and Sam Nelsen in sixth.

Kelly won in girls shortboard. Destiny Thompson competed in her first longboard event and Maya Takabayashi, also fresh to competition, surfed well, and finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

In boys longboard, Jameson Roller finished third. Sam Starr made the semi final in longboard and Joseph Schenk nearly advanced.

In the bodyboard final, Hunter Johnson fit in some rolls to finish second.
