Local arts leader Mary Ferguson, who plans to relocate to Santa Fe shortly, will be honored at the Laguna Outreach for Community Arts fundraiser, Living La Vida LOCA, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, at Madison Square and Garden Café, 320 N. Coast Highway.
LOCA will recognize Ferguson’s contributions, ranging from service on the city’s Arts Commission and the boards of the Laguna College of Art and Design and LOCA, where, along with Sherry Bullard, she co-founded the Art and Sea Lions workshops at Pacific Marine Mammal Center.

Soroptimists Seek Female Activists for Award
The Laguna Beach chapter of the Soroptimist International is accepting nominations for the $1000 Violet Richardson Award.
Young women who make the community and the world a better place through volunteer efforts such as fighting against drugs, crime and violence, cleaning up the environment and working to end discrimination and poverty are the ideal candidates.
Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular interest.

Ladies Who Lunch for A Cause
The 19th Annual Valiant Women Luncheon benefit for Mission Hospital steps off at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point.
The event starts with champagne, shopping at the silent auction and raffle drawings for jewelry, a package of services donated by cosmetic surgeon, and a restaurant dinner for eight.
During lunch Mission Hospital doctors and nurses will model spring designs from retailers at The Shops at Mission Viejo.
