Local’s Play in Fest’s Front Row

Chosen from among 900 submissions, “Moscow,” by playwright Lojo Simon of Laguna Beach, will be presented at the Samuel French Inc. Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival in New York’s Clurman Theatre.

Of 30 plays presented, six finalists will be chosen to receive publication and licensing contracts. The festival is Manhattan’s most established short play festival.

“I’m especially excited to work with the Broadway actors Teri Ralston, Joy Franz and Stephanie Lynne Mason, who bring a wealth of talent and experience to the production,” said Simon, artistic associate and literary manager at The Laguna Playhouse.

“Moscow” was a national finalist at the 2011 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. It was also previously presented at Miami’s City Theatre and Stanford, Conn.’s Temple Players.
