Musicians, singers and other performing artists are invited to participate in the fourth annual Fête de la Musique, a musical celebration of amateur and professional musicians that begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and is held throughout downtown.
The Fête de la Musique begins with a 2 p.m. opening ceremony at Main Beach’s cobblestones. Afterwards, musicians and singers will perform free at informal outdoor locations throughout downtown and will conclude with a sing-along closing ceremony again at the cobblestones at 4:30 p.m.

Jheri St. James and her dancers will take to the streets during Saturday's fete.

Pick up some extra jingle between 3:55 and 4:45 p.m. when JJ & the Habibis Belly Dancers perform at the Wells Fargo Advisors, 265 Ocean Avenue, preceded by Fusion Beat performing from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Both acts are part of the Fete de la Musique.
“The Fête has spread to over 110 countries and 250 cities around the world, and we’re very excited that Laguna Beach’s Fête de la Musique is now included in this circle of live music celebration,” said LBSCA President Karyn Philippsen. “We welcome anyone, of any age, to participate in our festival. Every genre of live performing music is welcome.  Amateur musicians play alongside professionals, and the entire community engages in the experience.”
There is no admission fee and performers donate their talents.
Interested musicians and singers may register with Fête de la Musique chairman, Chic McDaniel, by calling (949) 690-4444 or via e-mail at [email protected]. Additional information is available at the LBSCA website: www.lagunabeachsistercities.org
