Laguna Canyon Foundation announced the appointment of Hallie Jones as its new executive director.

A Laguna Beach native, she previously worked for Santa Monica-based Heal the Bay and has 12 years of experience in non-profit management.

Jones succeeds Max Borella, who recently accepted a position at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.

“We’re so grateful for Max’s leadership over the last three years, but I’m confident that we’ll continue his great progress with Hallie on board,” said Derek Ostensen, president of the foundation, dedicated to protecting California’s second largest coastal canyon wilderness.
