Boutique Benefit supporters, from left, Ava Eastman, Jan Layton, Emily Layton, Patti Callaghan, Susan Zajfen, Claire Fanarof, Kate Weiss, Dixie Viera, Celia Shambaugh and Evonne Kane, hope to raise $30,000 from this year’s event.

High-quality clothing, accessories, and artwork donated by 40 Laguna Beach boutiques and residents will be sold at the fifth annual Boutique Benefit fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Held at Laguna Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event benefits donors and shoppers, whose purchases help the Laguna Relief and Resource Center continue its mission.

The Boutique collection also includes affordably priced quality apparel, shoes, handbags, scarves, sunglasses and home décor donated by residents ranging from the Gap to Ferragamo, says Evonne Kane, founder and chief organizer of the annual event.. “In one area, the clothes are priced by type; for example all blouses $6, all pants $8, etc. The designer area will be priced per item.  We have larger inventory than in previous years and even have a few racks of vintage clothing.” said Kane. Donations of quality items will be accepted through Sept. 16 at Laguna Presbyterian Church.

In the past four years, the Boutique Benefit has raised over $70,000.00 for the LRRC, which provides disaster relief, maintains a food pantry for low-income families and offers food, clothing, shelter and services for the homeless in Laguna Beach.
