Sound Spectrum Keeps a Scholarship Spinning

As the senior class of 2014 eagerly awaits their June graduation date, many are completing scholarship applications for their college career. Did you know that the LBHS Scholarship Foundation awards over 250 scholarships amounting to over $300,000 annually? This wonderful community program features scholarships from local merchants, nonprofit organizations and many that are in loving memory of families and friends.

Our family has a scholarship in memory of our dad, Thomas Lavern Dugger, and our recently passed brother Dan Dugger.  Dan left behind two large crates of classic vinyl records, which we took to Sound Spectrum to appraise. Did you know there is a resurgence of interest with our young generation in listening to records and purchasing turntables? How cool is that?

Sound Spectrum purchased Dan’s excellent library of vinyl records and that money is being donated to our scholarship fund. In addition, Wave at the Sound Spectrum, joined us, Dan’s sisters, in making a donation to our family scholarship and for that, we want to say thank you, Wave! Last year when Danny passed away, many friends and family donated to our scholarship. So this year, and for many years to come, one deserved student will receive a $1,000 award.

If you would like to establish your own family scholarship at LBHS, please contact Lynn Gregory at the school. Donations can be sent to LBHSSF, P.O. Box 1569, Laguna Beach, CA 92652. And remember, for all your listening pleasures, shop local, shop Sound Spectrum.
