Thanks for sharing of bit of your journeys from afar and for making the effort to include the Indy along the way. Please drop us a postcard – a few lines and a lovely image – from your travels to [email protected].

Yellowstone

Danielle Purcell, second from right, with her parents Michelle and former Laguna police chief Neil Purcell, recently visited Yellowstone National Park for breakfast along with Bucky and John Baker.

Scotland

Local Maura McDonald hiked the eastern coastline of Scotland from Golspie to John O’Groats in April, the last trek of an end-to-end hike from Lands End in southern England to northern Scotland accomplished over the past five and half years by taking two, two-week trips per year. Besides the Indy, John, owner of The Orange Inn, asked her to wear a t-shirt from his restaurant. Her path led by miles of sheep, cows, daffodils, the odor of distilleries and beside old castles and clan cemeteries.

Hawaii

Joan Corman, a third generation Laguna Beach resident, kept up with hometown news via Instant Indy on her iPad while vacationing at Ka’anapali Beach on Maui.

“Enjoying scuba, snorkeling, SUP and ziplining in-between watercolor painting and studying  for the hospice and palliative care RN certification examination I will be taking this summer. I have spent the past two years of my life balancing time between painting and case management work for St. Michael Hospice, which has been fascinating and emotionally rewarding.”

The Great Wall

Locals Doug Cortez and Phillip LeBlanc visited China’s Great Wall in April.

Coliseum

Hunter Thain, left, joined Michele Monda, center, along with Alex and Emil Monda outside Rome Coliseum in July.

Africa

Despite having to travel light, loyal reader Sandra Gibson packed along the Indy on an African safari. Someone caught her dallying at the hippo pool in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.
