Worker Accused in Second Sex Offense

A second victim reported to police that a masseuse allegedly exposed himself during a session at a Laguna Beach spa.

The victim came forward after reading about the arrest of 33-year-old Mark Peregil Valenzon, of Lake Forest, for suspicion of attempted rape of a client. He was released after posting $100,000 bail, according to police.

The most recent incident occurred in February. Investigators will be submitting a new report about the exposure charge along with the more serious allegation, Sgt. Louise Callus said.

Transient Camps Cleared

Three separate transient encampments were reported to police last Friday, discovered to the rear of buildings in the 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Road.

Public works staff cleared the encampments of debris. No personal belongings were found, the police log noted. No information was available on the number of occupants.

At another location at 8:49 p.m. the same day, also on Laguna Canyon Road, a transient was cited for illegal lodging, police said.

Monday, May 16

Grand theft. 9:05 a.m. Lagunita. Gear worth $600, including a GPS unit and camera, was taken from an unlocked car.

Disturbance. 3:31 p.m. 300 block of Glenneyre St. Carol Lorenzi, 42, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for making terrorist threats and held for $50,000 bail. She told a salesperson, “I’m going to kill you” and accused the gallery of selling her art without permission.

Grand theft. 5 p.m. 200 block of San Joaquin St. Evicted tenants took household items worth $50,000. Police call the dispute a civil matter.

Tuesday, May 17

Fraud. 11 a.m. 1900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Someone used a debit card number to make an unauthorized $900 transaction.

Fraud. 11:18 a.m. 2500 block of Duarte Way. A $500 check sent by  mail to an out-of-state relative was intercepted and cashed by an unintended recipient.

Pedestrian stop. 12:37 p.m. 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. A 29-year-old Anaheim man and 35-year-old Laguna Niguel woman were arrested for drug possession.

Vehicle burglary. 5:28 p.m. 31600 block of Scenic Dr. A GPS unit, cellphone and cash, items worth $250, were taken from a locked vehicle with a slightly open window.

Theft. 6:44 p.m. 2800 block of Chillon Way. A purse and cash worth $100 was taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Traffic stop. 9:14 p.m. 200 block of Broadway.  A 60-year-old San Marino man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Wednesday, May 18

Fraud. 1:18 p.m. 2400 block of Monaco Dr. The victim was notified that his personal information was used to open a bank account in Hawaii and that someone in Oceanside was found to be in possession of his checkbook, which he had never lost or had stolen.

Vehicle burglary. 1:42 p.m. 600 block of Sleepy Hollow Lane. Two laptops worth $4,200 were stolen from the trunk of a vehicle left in the care of a  valet service.

Stolen vehicle. 1:44 p.m. A Corvette stolen on May 10 from an auto repair shop was recovered in Costa Mesa.

Friday, May 20

Traffic stop. 1:13 a.m. 600 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Stephanie Anderson, 27, of Laguna Niguel, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.

Traffic stop. 2:17 a.m. Montage Resort Dr. A San Diego man was taken into custody for three outstanding warrants for vehicle code violations.

Pedestrian stop. 8:48 a.m. 300 Jasmine St. Oscar Arnulfo Rodriguez, 62, of Santa Ana, was arrested for an outstanding DUI bench warrant. Bail was set at $20,000.

Disturbance. 10 a.m. 32000 block of Coast Hwy. Steven William Batz, 43, of Los Angeles, was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence after restraining a 17-year-old resident who he had argued with.

Theft. 9:09 p.m. 31500 block of Jewel Ave. A briefcase, paperwork and purse, all valued at $250, was reported stolen.

Saturday, May 21

Occupied vehicle. 1:25 a.m. 500 block of Blumont St. Five Laguna Beach juveniles aged 14 to 17 who were found intoxicated, were cited for curfew violations and released to their parents.

Coyote attack. 2:19 p.m. Laguna Woods. A brazen coyote attacked and injured a dog being walked on a leash. The owner also suffered a bite on the finger, sustained while attempting to separate the animals.

Grand theft. 3:51 p.m. 300 block of Agate St. A wallet, iTouch, GPS and skateboard, losses totaling $610, were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

DUI. 6:42 p.m. So. Coast Wilderness. Brian Stone Myers of Oceanside was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior conviction.

Disturbance. 9:20 p.m. 800 block of High Dr. Dean Hyland, of Dove Canyon,  18, was arrested for suspicion of marijuana possession. Police seized 17.5 grams and was held for $25,000 bail.

Traffic stop. 9:40 p.m. 300 block of Second St. A 64-year-old Newport Beach resident was cited for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Theft. 11:50 a.m. 30900 block of Coast Hwy. An iPod and GPS worth $900 was taken from a vehicle in an underground lot.

Sunday, May 22

Traffic stop. 3 a.m. Wesley Drive. A 22-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Vehicle burglary. 4:33 p.m. 2900 block of Chillon Way. A GPS unit and its charger were taken from a car.
