Monday, Aug. 8

Burglary. 9:57 a.m. 500 block of S. Coast Highway. Four separate businesses were either burglarized or vandalized by someone who forced entry via doors or windows.

Theft. 10:59 a.m. 20800 block of Marilyn Drive. Two cell phones, two pairs of sunglasses, coins and videos were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Fraud. 4:36 p.m. 800 block of Baja St. A resident discovered that four unauthorized withdrawals had been made on her account.

Assault. 8:26 p.m. 20800 block Laguna Canyon Rd. Michael Joseph Pritchard, 56, was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and held for $25,000 bail. Pritchard allegedly broke up a three-person fight by kicking a combatant in the head, causing lacerations to his ear and bruising.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 9

Theft. 7:45 p.m. 1000 block of Balboa Ave. A woman claimed that a former pro baseball player had allegedly used her credit to illegally purchase a car in Newport Beach. The suspect is associated with the car sales industry.

Petty theft. 12:20 p.m. 1700 block of Palm Dr. A death certificate and two safety deposit keys were reported stolen from a car at a rest area near Camp Pendleton.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 10

Traffic stop. 12:46 a.m. West St. A San Clemente man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Grand theft. 9 p.m. 1300 block of Morningside Dr. Two cell phones and a ring valued at $600 were taken.

 

Thursday, Aug. 11

Detective activity. San Clemente. Parolee Ryan Self, 28, of San Clemente was arrested for suspicion of possessing burglary tools as well as controlled narcotics hydrocodone and GHB. He was held without bail. Police tracked Self with leads developed from an Aug. 6 burglary on Dunning Drive.

Search warrant. 7:20 p.m. Bishop St. Mission Viejo. Jeffrey Stetson, 52, was arrested for suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, GHB, and narcotics after police served a search warrant. He was held for $25,000 bail.

Suspicious. 1:27 p.m. Smithcliffs Drive. Police detained three men after being called by residents who heard three explosions. Corey Blair, 20, of New Hampshire, was arrested for suspicion of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription. Two others were cited for lesser charges, including a 20-year-old Emerald Bay resident for misdemeanor possession of fireworks.

Fraud. 1:48 p.m. 1400 Temple Terrace. Someone illegally withdrew  $1,800 from a resident’s account.

 

Friday, Aug. 12

Traffic stop. 12:07 a.m. 120 Coast Hwy. An Oregon woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Traffic stop. 1:48 a.m. 1400 block of Glenneyre St. A San Clemente woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

Grand theft. 12:35 p.m. Santa Ana. Jessica Marie Selle, 33, of Chicago, was arrested for suspicion of grand theft in the disappearance last week of $25,000 in gold coins from her employer. The 15 gold American Eagle coins were recovered. Bail was set at $20,000.

 

Saturday, Aug. 13

Burglary. 3:37 p.m. 1000 block of Dyer Place. A $5,000 custom-made diamond, ruby and emerald ring was taken from a home.

Assist another agency. 10 p.m. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. Seven citations were issued for underage alcohol consumption.

Sunday, Aug. 14

Traffic stop. 2:25 a.m. Vista del Sol. A 28-year-old Poway woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail.

Vandalism. 3:38 p.m. 800 block of Bluebird Canyon Dr. Tires were slashed.

Disturbance. 3:52 p.m. 1300 block of Dunning Dr. A 21-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for misdemeanor drug charges after breaking items in her home.
