Monday, Sept. 17

Pedestrian stop. 1:41 a.m. 300 block of Broadway St. Dwight Francis Duggan, 54, of Escondido was arrested for an outstanding $7,500 warrant.

Fraud. 1400 block Morningside Circle. 8:30 a.m. Investigators are analyzing a claim by an employer, who alleged an employee stole a check.

Sexual perversion. 11:22 a.m. 300 block of Cliff drive. A 41-year-old Huntington Beach man was arrested for being drunk in public after a witness reported a couple engaged in oral sex near a parking lot.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 18

Traffic stop. 8:42 p.m. Diamond St. A 46-year-old Utah man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Traffic stop.. 11:33 p.m. Laguna Canyon Rd. Bruce Joseph Griffitts, 49, of Carrollton, Tex., was cited for DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 19

Traffic stop. 2:21 a.m. Monterey St. A 22-year-old Corona del Mar man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Traffic collision. 4:52 a.m. 20600 Laguna Canyon Rd. The driver of a vehicle stolen earlier from a dealer fled the scene after plowing into a railing.

Traffic stop. 10:19 a.m. 100 block of Bluebird Canyo Rd. Ramiro Torres, 22, of  Anaheim, was arrested for an outstanding $15,000 warrant..

Vandalism. 10:27 a.m. 1500 block of S. Coast Hwy. A sunroof was vandalized over the weekend.

Burglary. 11:30 a.m. 1000 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Someone who entered through a window overnight helped themselves to food.

Defraud innkeeper. 400 block of  Coast Hwy. 8:54 p.m. Kerry Jo Nicholl, 48, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of burglary after walking out on a $43 tab. Bail was set at $20,000.

Lifeguard rescue. Sleepy Hollow Lane. 9:50 p.m. A 53-year-old Montclair woman who needed help getting out of the water was later arrested for public intoxication.

 

Thursday, Sept. 20

Traffic stop. 1 a.m. Canyon Acres. James Nick Kanavos, 43, of San Bernardino, was arrested for an outstanding $20,000 warrant over police obstruction.

Burglary. 2:52 p.m. 200 block of St. Ann’s Dr. Kevin Jacobson, 31, of Canyon Country, was arrested for suspicion of burglary and held for $50,000 bail. Jacobson apparently fled after being confronted by an employee inside a business.

 

Friday, Sept. 21

Stolen vehicle. 7:48 a.m. 900 block of S. Coast Hwy. A vehicle left overnight was discovered in the city of Orange.

Illegally parked vehicles. 7:37 p.m. 700 block of Wilson St. Eight vehicles were cited and five were towed for parking in a no-parking zone.

Burglary. 9:15 p.m. 400 block of N. Coast Hwy. An employee who took a walk returned to find her purse was gone.

Medical aid. 1500 Skyline Dr. 9:16 p.m. 15-year-old was pushed down stairs by three tall, male seniors at the game.

 

Saturday, Sept. 22

Pedestrian stop. 12:19 p.m. 300 block of Broadway St. Jason William Brown, 43, of Laguna Beach was arrested for a no-bail parole violation.

Pedestrian stop. 7:33 p.m. 3200 block Alta Laguna Blvd. Officers on foot patrol came across six juveniles from throughout the county smoking near the reservoir. One was injured from a fall and taken to the hospital, while the others were released to parents at the station.

 

Sunday, Sept. 23

Traffic stop. 12:01 a.m. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. A 43-year-old Laguna Beach man was cited for DUI.

Traffic collision. 4:35 a.m. 31600 block of Second Ave. An older Volvo with three teens inside plowed into a fence into a wall. No further details were available.

Structure fire. 6 a.m. 900 block of Santa Ana St. Fire burnt through to a second floor but was put out in 45 minutes.

Transformer fire. La Brea St. N. Coast Hwy. 9 a.m. Witnesses reported two explosions and wires down at La Brea. Pavilions, Emerald Bay and Tides Motel temporarily lacked power.

Traffic collision. 11:23 a.m. 20600 Laguna Canyon Rd. A 37-year-old Manhattan Beach man suffered critical injuries when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning left in congested traffic. The cyclist was illegally driving in the center lane at a high rate of speed, said Sgt. Louise Callus. He sustained broken legs and pelvis and was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

Burglary. 6:33 p.m. 1500 block of N. Coast Hwy. Surfboard and wetsuit valued at $2,000 were stolen Saturday.

Vehicle burglary. 11:06 p.m. Mountain Rd. $700 in cash, IDs and checks were taken from a vehicle in the previous two hours.
