Veteran Officers Receive Promotions
Traffic Corporal Rebecca White and training Corporal William Downing received promotions to sergeant last week, Police Chief Laura Farinella announced.
The two veteran police officers will fill vacancies created by recent retirements. Both were hired in 2008.
White was an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for five years and holds a bachelor’s degree in law and society from UC Santa Barbara.
Downing has two years of experience as an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy and 22 years of experience as a United States Marine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Union Institute and University in Los Angeles.
