Steve McFadden’s squad begins the program’s fourth season on Friday, March 17, at 4 p.m. at Doheny when they take on Saddleback Valley Christian their chief league rival. Breakers will be playing five matches at Laguna’s Main Beach Courts this season all with a 4 p.m. start:

Boys Volleyball (1-1)
The eighth-ranked Breakers bounced back in their non-league play with a relatively easy 25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 25-15 victory over ninth-ranked Edison last Friday, March 3, at the Charger’s gym. Breakers started the match rolling to a 14-6 first set lead to coast to a 25-15 win. In the second set, Breakers led most of the way only to let their hosts out score them 7-3 at the end. In the third set, Laguna broke a 16-16 tie and outscored Edison 9-3 to seal the win. In the fourth set, Sam Burgi served the Chargers off the court as Laguna opened a 14-3 early lead for an easy set and match win. Pete Obradovich led with 13 kills hitting .500 with Sam Burgi adding 12 and Josh McManus 10 kills. Cole Paxson dished out 18 assists and had 15 digs. Ayrton Garcia dished out 20 assists, two aces and a solo block.
Laguna traveled to San Clemente this past Tuesday, March 7, for their 49th meeting with sixth-ranked Tritons in the long series rivalry led by Laguna at 30-18.
Laguna is home next Wednesday, March 15, with second-ranked Corona del Mar with the lower levels starting at 4 p.m. and varsity taking the courts an hour later at Dugger Gym.
