Laguna opened their league title defense with a 5-4 win over Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana in a contest played Friday, March 17, at Skipper Carrillo Field.
Jack Loechner came in with one out in the seventh to save the win as Blake Burzell picked up the victory. On Saturday, March 18, Laguna split their doubleheader with Loara at Glover Stadium in Anaheim, dropping the morning contest 6-5 but picking up the afternoon contest 17-8. Laguna had 11 hits including two triples to defeat the Saxons.
This past Tuesday, March 21, Laguna dodged the rain to defeat Godinez 7-2 after a big sixth inning five run outburst. Jack Loechner went the distance for the win striking out eight batters. Breakers extended their all-time series with the Grizzlies to 22-2.
