Turning the Tide Against Trash

The Clean Water Now! Coalition held its final quarterly adopt-a-beach cleanup last Saturday, Dec. 10, concluding 11 consecutive years organizing cleanups.

Andrew Towfiq recruited 25 fellow students at Irvine’s Northwood High School to assist at the Main Beach station, where he acted as a cleanup intern. Students received three hours of community service credit.

CWN!C’s Roger Butow expressed his appreciation to volunteers and members of Hearts of Montage as well as logistical support from the city’s marine safety department.
