Over 300 people attended the most successful gala in Boys & Girls Club history last month. Carrie Click and Paula Hornbuckle co-chaired the event that raised more than $500,000, which underwrites much of the club’s budget as well as new programs. These include a new clubhouse to serve South Laguna families, a new teen center for high school students and expanded lunchtime programs an public school campuses.
Guests were treated to an Asian themed affair while being entertained by Cirque du Xīnzàng performers.
A video produced by Stephanie Serna helped illustrate how the club helps families. Guests opened their hearts and pledged over $300,000 before the live auction even began. “We are grateful for our community and very proud of our partnerships which have helped us achieve and strive for new heights,” said Bill Wood, the club’s board president.
